Summer newsletter

Summer newsletter

From Penny at Lilac Room

As I write this summer newsletter it is far from the balmy June days of 2018 and I even had the heat pad on this last Saturday! The days are longer though, and those who visit in the evenings arrive and even leave in the light. With the advent of summer, Lilac Room is embracing some changes. Out are foot wipes that contain plastics and in are biodegradable ones; instead of throwing away empty plastic reflexology wax pots, the compostable ones are heading for the compost bin. I also am exploring the use of some organic waxes to help in a small way with the reduction of pesticides and again the packaging is compostable.

This weekend I travelled to Calming Influences, Southampton for my VTCT Foot Care assessment day. The day went well and I carried out my three assessments successfully. The case studies and written component have to be marked and verified, and in due course I should receive my certificate. Thank you to everyone who allowed me to soak, scrub, apply wax or a foot mask to their feet; trim, file and paint their toenails. Look out in my next newsletter for the addition of some lovely pampering foot care treatments.

Its back! The Summer Special Wild Rose Beauty Balm Facial so many of you loved last year is available this June, July and August. This little pot of wonder will cleanse, exfoliate and give your skin a super boost of moisture. Plus receive £5 off your own pot of wonder when you book this summer facial, perfect for your holiday as it’s also fantastic a lip balm, eyebrow tamer, heel balm and cuticle conditioner.

New! Just in time for Father’s Day is the men’s pamper package. Treat him to an upper back, neck, shoulder, face and scalp massage with a hot cloth cleanse, exfoliation, firming or clay mask, before a 50 minute balancing reflexology treatment.

A few reminders
Whilst I understand life does not always go to plan, whenever possible please give a minimum of 24 hours’ notice if you can no longer come for your treatment. Like many other businesses such as hairdressers and dentists Lilac Room will ask you to pay for missed appointments. I sometimes have clients waiting for cancellations so giving good notice helps with smooth running of the diary too. The loyalty card scheme continues to be very popular but please don’t forget that in order to enjoy your 6th treatment free you need to collect all 6 stamps within a year of issue. Lost card? – no problem – you can always call, text or email me and I will let you know how many stamps you have and when your card expires.

Summer closure and available dates
Lilac Room will be taking a break for the first two weeks of September.

Warmest Wishes,
